Well hello!

I don’t even know where to start. I can’t believe my last post was in November! I can’t believe the holidays have come and gone, my one-year blog anniversary has come and gone, and that we are already into FEBRUARY – almost MARCH!! – of 2016!!!! Why is time flying by so fast?!?!

Well, I could go back and detail the updates on everything I’ve been up to the last few months – all of my purging projects, all of my nextpiration projects, all of my new year resolutions and goals, all of the amazing wisdom and life lessons I’ve gained, all of the fun adventures I’ve been on with my kids, all of the upcoming fun we have planned for 2016…. but instead, I’ll just surge forward, full steam ahead, and hold on for the ride!

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.” – Ferris Bueller

Those are true words spoken by one of my favorite 1980s movie characters, and I’ll just leave it at that for now. I’ve been busy, I’ve been slammed, I’ve been treading water trying to keep breathing… But I’m here, and I miss my little chapternextblog! I’ve stopped and looked around, and I like all the views I see – or I like the ideas in my head of the views I’d like to change! So I’m back to start sharing again – more consistent posts are on their way! 🙂

Are you ready? ChapterNext, here we go!! I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it!!!!

A Day in the Life of Zara

Hi everyone, this is Zara! My mom has been so busy having fun with all of her projects and challenges right now (and brother and I keep her pretty busy too), that she hasn’t even had a chance to sit down to write about any of them for quite awhile now. So we decided to change it up a bit today and have me, Zara Winter (age 23 months), sit in as a guest blogger and write a post about my adventures. So here is A Day in the Life of Zara. Enjoy!

Show and Tell: COSTUMES!!

What perfect timing for this Show and Tell linkup with Andrea over at momfessionals! The topic this week is Halloween costumes. I’m pretty sure this is one of my favorite topics on the Show and Tell list this year.

We love Halloween. We love costume parties. We love it all. I mean, we have a costume closet. And it’s awesome. So I’ve got too many plenty of costume pictures to share, but I’m going to keep this one short and sweet and just share my favorite “turning point” costume that I wore two years ago – which marked my final Halloween before I became a mom.

Today I Chose Sleep

Hello Monday.

Today is normally a day that I would post an update and new goal for my next Momentum Monday. Or a post about all of my ridiculous, I mean fun 🙂 goals and challenges I am currently working on – my October fitness goals, my current house project, my fall bucket list, the great purge-fest of 2015, to name a few. Or even a post about another ridiculous, I mean fun 🙂 new challenge that I am starting today – the 21-day fix.

But instead, today I chose sleep.  Continue reading

My First Job: A Lost Profession

I’m excited to link up with Andrea over at Momfessionals for her Show and Tell Tuesday – the topic this time around is first jobs.

In the state of Washington, you have to be at least 16 years old to have a job. But then there are a few businesses who can/do hire younger than that. I don’t know what the loophole is, but both Jeremy and I were younger than 16 when we worked our first jobs. And with how much the times have changed these days, my first job seems like a lost profession…. the paper route. Do people still get the newspaper delivered to their front porch anymore?  Continue reading

Momentum Monday #3

What a great weekend that was! Beautiful fall weather, continued progress on my projects, fun family time, fun gatherings with friends, and the Seahawks win! No complaints here 🙂

And now here we are, another Momentum Monday! Now that September is coming to a close, and I’ve got a few Momentum Mondays under my belt, I’ve noticed that some of my weekly goals might be a little far-reaching for what I can actually accomplish in a week’s worth of “free time” when I have a baby and a toddler to care for full time. And I don’t want to feel like I’m not making any progress if I don’t complete a goal by the end of the week, so I am going to change it up a bit and set one huge goal for the month of October and use my Momentum Monday posts to share my weekly progress updates towards that overall huge goal. We’ll see how this goes! Continue reading

Blue Friday Favorites!

Go Hawks!! Today’s Friday Favorites are all about the Seattle Seahawks! Here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, we all have some good football fun on Blue Fridays – which is hopefully every Friday from here on out through the Super Bowl! Fun Fact: my girl Zara (born Thanksgiving Day 2013) doesn’t know a Super Bowl without the Seahawks in it. This year, we’re going for three in a row! 🙂 (It doesn’t help that we’re starting the season 0-2, but moving on…) Let’s celebrate some Blue Friday Favorites…. In the spirit of the 12s (what Seahawks fans are called), I’ve got 12 Seahawks Blue Friday Favorites! GO HAWKS!! Continue reading

Car Funnies!

I came across a fun blog this week (shout out to Amanda at Meet @ the Barre!), and she wrote a hilarious post about a couple of funny driving stories from when she was younger. Seriously funny! Read it if you want a good laugh. Her post reminded me of a couple of funny car stories of my own from back in the day, and I had a good laugh at my younger self as well. Jeremy and I had just talked about one of these… he didn’t know me back then, but he sure gets a kick out of hearing about some of my younger antics.

I consider myself a great driver (now), but I’ll be the first to admit that I made some ridiculous decisions as a new driver. And here I am, sharing a few of the doozies on my blog. Enjoy!  Continue reading
