Easter Fun Week!

Wow, what a week! We were so busy with fun Easter activities with family and friends all week long, I barely had any time to sit down at my blog. So I’m combining all of our adventures in one big Easter post so I can catch up, because today is the start of a new blogging challenge that I’ve signed up for – more on that in the next post! 😉

This is the first holiday that Zara is old enough and mobile enough to really participate and play a role in the fun activities. And oh my goodness, what fun she (and we!) had! It is so much fun to be a parent and watch a small child experience holidays. Our Easter celebrations started last weekend and went strong all the way through yesterday, Easter Sunday…  Continue reading

My First “Hike It, Baby” Group Hike

Today Zara and I did our first group hike from the “Hike It, Baby – Seattle” group. I’ve been a member of this group for awhile now, but timing/location/etc just hasn’t worked out for me yet, until today.

The hike was the Preston/Snoqualmie Falls Trail just outside of Fall City. It was a fully paved trail and fairly flat, which means stroller-friendly. I always love seeing Snoqualmie Falls, but I’ve only seen it from the regular viewpoint from Salish Lodge (and the hike down to the bottom from there), and this trail promised a different and less-known viewpoint. The drive was only 20 minutes from our house, but meant we had to miss Stroller Strides this morning.  Continue reading

Will run for chocolate!

When I found out I was pregnant right after Halloween, I was in the middle of training to run a 10k that was scheduled for the week of Thanksgiving. I continued my training and ran the 10k with no issues. By then, I was 13 weeks pregnant and through the first trimester. So I decided I wanted to keep running throughout this pregnancy. I wouldn’t push myself and train hard for long races, but I wanted to keep up a light running schedule (8-10 miles a week), and run a few 5k races for as long as I could.

run like a mother 10k race

I am now 23 weeks pregnant and ran my first 5k race since then yesterday. And boy oh boy, was this event amazing! Continue reading

I love FIT4MOM!

Zara was 8 weeks old when I found FIT4MOM. I was looking for workout classes that I could do with my baby. I had loved taking The Bar Method classes before I got pregnant because it was barre exercises that I loved from all my years of dance classes. I didn’t want to give that up now that I had a baby. I don’t even remember how I stumbled upon it, but I found info about Stroller Barre online. I couldn’t believe it – I could bring my baby in a stroller and do barre exercises…and be outside?! I immediately signed up for a class.  Continue reading
